Muktinath Yatra from Kakarvitta
The Kakarvitta (Panitanki) border is eastern Nepal's gateway -the best entry for pilgrims from Siliguri, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Guwahati, and all of Northeast India. While it's the longest land route to Muktinath, it offers the most complete Nepal experience.
This 8-day package takes you across the entire breadth of Nepal -from the eastern border to the western mountains. Along the way, you'll experience Kathmandu's cultural treasures including Pashupatinath Temple (Nepal's holiest Hindu shrine), Pokhara's stunning lakeside, and the dramatic Kali Gandaki gorge route to Muktinath.
The highlight is combining two of Nepal's most sacred pilgrimages: Pashupatinath darshan in Kathmandu (Day 3) and Muktinath darshan at 3,710m (Day 6). This dual-pilgrimage combination makes the longer route worthwhile for devotees seeking both blessings.
At Muktinath Temple, you'll complete the full spiritual circuit -the 108 Mukti Dhara water spouts, the eternal flames at Jwala Mai, and darshan at the ancient Vishnu temple. Our Hindi-speaking guide ensures every ritual and significance is understood.

What to Expect
Your Muktinath yatra is a blend of spiritual fulfillment and Himalayan adventure. Here's what each moment feels like.

Kakarvitta Border Crossing
Our team meets you at Panitanki-Kakarvitta border. The crossing is smooth for Indian citizens -just Voter ID or Passport needed. Birtamod (2 km away) has better facilities for a quick stop.

Pashupatinath Temple
Nepal's holiest Hindu temple on the banks of the Bagmati River. One of the 12 Jyotirlingas (or equivalent in some traditions). The evening aarti is mesmerizing -we time your visit accordingly.

Kathmandu Valley
A full day exploring Boudhanath (the largest Buddhist stupa), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple with panoramic views), and the bustling streets of Thamel. A cultural immersion before the mountain pilgrimage.

Sacred Bath at 108 Spouts
The 108 stone water spouts at Muktinath pour ice-cold holy water at 3,710m. Most pilgrims pass under all 108 -about 20 minutes. Cold but profoundly spiritual.

Jwala Mai Eternal Flame
The natural gas flames burning perpetually alongside water inside Jwala Mai temple -one of the rarest phenomena on Earth. Sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists.

Food & Comfort
Pure vegetarian meals at every stop -from Kathmandu to Jomsom. Hotels range from comfortable city hotels to mountain lodges. Expect basic but warm hospitality at higher altitudes.
